WHY Kingston United and Recreation Soccer

We’re proud to be Eastern Ontario’s only truly local, community rooted Recreation program.
But what makes us different isn’t just geography. It’s our approach.

Building Confidence Through the Game

Building Skills & Confidence

Recreation soccer is where players learn to love the game while developing the skills to take it further.
Our programs emphasize teamwork, creativity, and confidence—ensuring every child feels included, supported, and inspired to grow.
Each session blends learning and fun, helping players understand the game while enjoying every moment on the field.

Friendly Competition, Real Progress

At Kingston United, competition means striving to improve—together.
Our Recreation teams focus on effort, sportsmanship, and steady development through games that challenge players to think, move, and collaborate.
Win or lose, every match is an opportunity to learn, build confidence, and set new goals.

Pathways to Competitive Soccer

Recreation soccer is more than a season—it’s a stepping stone.
Many of our players move on to Kingston United’s Competitive and OPDL programs, already equipped with strong fundamentals and the right mindset.
For others, it’s a lifelong connection to the sport and community they love.
Either way, every journey at Kingston United starts with belonging.

No Gimmicks. No Guesswork. Just Growth.

Where Fun Fuels Growth — and Every Player Belongs

Kingston United’s Recreation Program is designed for players who love the game and want to keep getting better while having fun.
It’s the heartbeat of community soccer in Kingston — a place where learning, teamwork, and friendly competition come together.
From first touches to confident passes, we focus on developing complete players through positive coaching, age-appropriate training, and games that challenge and inspire.

Our Recreation program bridges the gap between Learn to Play and Competitive soccer, giving every player the chance to explore their potential in an inclusive, encouraging environment.
We emphasize respect, effort, and teamwork — values that shape both better players and better people.

At Kingston United, every player matters. Whether they’re chasing their first goal or preparing for the next level, our Recreation teams give them the space to grow, the freedom to play, and the confidence to believe in what’s possible.

This is Kingston United Recreation Soccer — community-driven, development-focused, and built for joy.

We’re Not a Franchise. We’re a Family.

Building the Future of Community Soccer in Kingston with Recreation

Recreation is the Heart of Who We Are

Some clubs treat community soccer as a side program—basic, secondary, and disconnected from player development.
At Kingston United, Recreation isn’t an afterthought. It’s the foundation of everything we build.

We are proudly Kingston-run, Kingston-staffed, and Kingston-focused.
Every player, coach, and volunteer is part of something real—a program designed to grow the game from the ground up.
Our Recreation program introduces players to teamwork, friendship, and the fundamentals of the sport, creating a positive environment where everyone can thrive.

We’ve spent years developing local coaches, mentors, and leaders who share our vision for accessible, high-quality soccer in Kingston.
We’ve built lasting relationships with families, schools, and community partners who believe in the power of sport to shape character.

And more importantly, we’ve built a culture—one that values belonging, respect, and joy in the game as much as skill and success.

When our players step on the field, they don’t just represent a team.
They represent Kingston United—a club that believes soccer should be for everyone, and that greatness starts with opportunity.

Our success isn’t measured by trophies or titles, but by the smiles, growth, and community we build together through the game.

Is Recreation right for my child?

New or Returning to the Game?

Every great player begins with a spark — a moment where soccer stops being just a game and starts being their thing.
That moment often happens right here in Kingston United’s Recreation Program.
It’s where players discover their potential, find their confidence, and fall in love with the rhythm of the game.
We make sure every player — whether new or returning — gets the attention, coaching, and encouragement to grow at their own pace.

Where Development Meets Enjoyment

Recreation soccer isn’t just about running around with friends (though there’s plenty of that).
It’s structured, progressive, and led by certified coaches who understand how to make learning fun and meaningful.
Each week combines skill sessions with game play designed to challenge and excite — teamwork, communication, creativity, and confidence are all built right in.
Every child plays, every child improves, and every child leaves with a smile.

When It’s Time to Step Up

As skills and ambition grow, coaches can recommend a move to Competitive or OPDL.
Recreation is a clear pathway—keep the fun, add challenge, and progress at the right pace within Kingston United.
